News High-voltage substation Aalst

On 10 June 2024, Elia will start works to replace a number of outdated underground cables. These works will cause some traffic disruption around the Erembodegemstraat in the summer months.

During the school visit on Friday, 8 December, pupils from the 5th and 6th years of primary school SAB in Aalst played the ElectriCITY game. Through this game, pupils come into contact with the complex topic of energy transition in a playful and interactive way. It was an exciting and instructive morning.

During the Open Site Day on Sunday 7 May 2023, more than 300 visitors took a look at the high-voltage substation in Aalst. Prime Minister, Alexander De Croo was also present.

Elia is preparing the Belgian high-voltage grid for energy transition. As part of strengthening the grid, Elia is renovating Aalst's ageing high-voltage substation on Erembodegemstraat. In fact, the substation is a crucial link in the region's energy supply security.
