Outsourcing of studies

Elia outsources some studies to design offices. The scope of the assignment varies from a simple study to a turnkey project (study, works and project follow-up). Study assignments mainly relate to high-voltage substations, lines and cables in the fields of civil engineering and electricity.

The Outsourcing Unit also manages the service contracts of negotiators, site supervisors, safety coordinators and engineering experts.

Contracting

To mitigate resource demand peaks, Elia uses external labour by means of a managed service provider that manages companies supplying external consultants.
