The Group Electrical Equipment Department manages purchases of electrical equipment centrally for the whole of Elia Group (Elia & 50Hertz).
The purchases made include the bulk of the equipment needed to develop and maintain the Belgian and (north-eastern) German power grids, i.e. equipment for both connections (overhead lines and underground cables) and substations (primary and secondary equipment).
Brussels and Berlin
The Group Electrical Equipment Department operates from both Brussels and Berlin, depending on the equipment purchased. We make most of our purchases in the form of long-term framework agreements and in accordance with European public procurement rules. Safety and quality are our main priorities.
