Capacity of the Elia grid to accommodate new decentralized generation units

Pursuant of regional regulations and in consultation with the relevant Distribution System Operators, Elia establishes and provides a remaining capacity at the transformer substations for the injection of new decentralized productions within the distribution networks.

Indicative injection capacities in the Walloon Region

Pursuant to Article 29 of the Walloon government's decree on the cost-benefit analysis and the methods for calculating and implementing financial compensation of 10 November 2016, Elia publishes for all substations connected to a distribution grid the already assigned permanent injection capacity as the remaining permanent injection capacity for conversion from medium voltage to high voltage. The latter is only determined by taking into account the maximum power that can be evacuated by the transformers from the distribution grid towards the high voltage grid. A possible limitation of the high voltage grid may, however, lead to a lower permanent injection capacity.
