News Boucle du Hainaut

In order to gather information on the state of the soil at the potential locations where the Boucle du Hainaut infrastructure would be built, Elia wishes to carry out soil tests from October 2023.

In addition to the 14 municipalities potentially affected by the Boucle du Hainaut project in Wallonia, two municipalities are affected in Flanders: Avelgem and Kluisbergen. 

On 29 October, the Boucle du Hainaut project team and experts from Elia met with a delegation from the Revolht citizens group.

During the 15-day consultation period following the Preliminary Information Meeting carried out last September in video form, all local residents were able to ask questions, make comments and propose alternatives.

On 4 January last, Elia sent its basic application and all the letters received to the government and the Walloon authorities.

On 4 January, Elia sent the basic application together with your letters and the opinions of the various municipal authorities to the Walloon government.

Following the submission of the basic application to the municipal authorities concerned by the project last September and the various official stages that followed, it is now the end of the consultation period for local residents (since 12 October) but also for municipal authorities (from today).
