Public consultation on the “Adaptation plan for the Walloon Region 2025-2035”

Topic

Elia is organizing a public consultation on the Adaptation plan for the Walloon Region 2025-2035 in line with the Electricity decree, in particular with regard to its provisions on the adaptation plan (Article 15 of the decree of 5th May 2022 on the modification of the Electricity decree).

Context

Under Article 15 of the Electricity decree, Elia, as the local transport grid operator, is required to submit a development plan for the Walloon Region to the CWaPE every year.

This Adaptation plan is structured as follows. Firstly, it contains a detailed estimate of the capacity requirements of the network in question, with an indication of the underlying assumptions, taking into account changes in consumption and decentralized generation. Secondly, it specifies the main infrastructures to be built or renovated over the next ten years and the corresponding planned investments. Finally, the plan sets out a timetable for these investment projects.

Period

Elia invites all stakeholders to submit any comments and suggestions they may have on the document submitted for consultation.

The consultation period runs from the 15th of October to the 19th of November 2024 included.

After the consultation period, Elia will collect all comments and feedback from the market parties. It will analyze these comments and incorporate them into a consultation report together with its responses. In addition to the consultation report, Elia will publish the market parties' reactions (including names) on the dedicated webpage of its website, unless it is explicitly stated that the contribution is to be considered confidential.
