Laying new electricity cable

Work has been under way on the Industrieweg in Grobbendonk to dismantle and replace two high-voltage pylons since 13 January 2025. The new pylons are needed to support the conductors of the reinforced high-voltage line - which the old pylons could not do.

Work on the two pylons to continue until the beginning of June 2025

On 13 January 2025, Elia started work on the foundations of the high-voltage pylon near the municipal depot on the Industrieweg. All the protective measures necessary have been put in place under the high-voltage line. This high-voltage pylon will be dismantled in the last week of February 2025. Construction of the new pylon is scheduled to take place between the beginning and end of May 2025. The high-voltage pylon near Schrijnwerkerij Verrijken will be dismantled as well. This work will continue into the first two weeks of February. Construction of the new pylon has been scheduled to take place from the end of April to the beginning of June 2025.

After replacing these two high-voltage pylons, Elia will continue with its work on the high-voltage line’s conductors. All work on this project is set to end before the beginning of 2026.
