Last section under construction on the N975

To ensure the reliability of the grid and security of supply in the area, Elia is currently laying an underground medium-voltage line between the municipalities of Gerpinnes and Florennes.

The work is being coordinated with other cable and pipeline operators (ORES, Luminus, Proximus, the Public Service of Wallonia (SPW), Namur Intermunicipal Public Services (INASEP)) to ensure that all public utility works are carried out at the same time and to minimise the impact of the works on your mobility and living environment.

The project will shortly enter the next phase, with work taking place between junction 6 (at the entrance to Vieux Chemin de Namur) and junction 5, at Hanzinne cemetery.

According to the provisional schedule, this new phase will start on 15 October 2024 and end on 6 December 2024 and will therefore be the last section located on the N975.

This new phase also means the end of the major diversion. Traffic will be able to flow through the site on an alternating basis, using traffic lights.

It should be noted that after the section between Hanzinne and Hanzinelle reopens to traffic from 15 October, minor work will be required at the J7 junction shaft (level with the first two houses on Rue du Sommet). The work will last a week, and traffic lights will be set up to allow the continued flow of traffic.
