Preparatory work in Seraing: in compliance with environmental legislation

In order to comply with the obligations arising from the permit issued to Elia and the legislation in force on the conservation of nature, the felling of trees required for the Elia site will take place on 7 and 8 February 2023, outside the bird nesting season. 

The areas concerned were thoroughly inspected during multiple field visits in the presence of various parties such as the Department of Nature and Forests (DNF), representatives of the City of Seraing, local residents, Elia and an external ecologist, mandated by Elia to ensure the proper execution of the works. These visits made it possible to precisely locate the vegetation to be preserved and to clearly mark the working zones.

After Elia’s intervention in Seraing, the works will resume in Neupré to follow the announced schedule.
