Public information sessions on Ventilus Regional Land Use Plan (GRUP) design set to start
The Environment Department is organising information sessions in connection with the public consultation for the draft Ventilus Regional Land Use Plan (GRUP), running from 29 August to 27 October. The first information session for the general public is taking place today in Zedelgem.
During the consultation, the public has 60 days to respond to the contents of the draft GRUP, with the authorities already holding information sessions in recent weeks. Members of civil society organisations were able to register for special online sessions and people whose homes are in the immediate vicinity of the new route were invited to attend explanatory talks.
Today the first in-person information session for the general public is taking place in Zedelgem. This will be followed by two additional online sessions as well as four more in-person sessions in Bruges, Deerlijk, Izegem and again in Zedelgem. The Environment Department will provide explanations about the route, technology, electromagnetic fields and more. High-voltage system operator Elia will also attend, providing information about the agricultural protocol and compensation policy. Starting today, you can also visit the interactive map on our website to see a visual representation of the route.
