Elia to hold information session for local residents
Elia will soon start installing new underground electricity cables (150 kV) between the Tienen and Diest high-voltage substations (via Kersbeek), and to that end has scheduled an information session for local residents on Wednesday 23 April to tell them what the project will involve.
Installation of new underground electricity cables (150 kV)
Since the high-voltage line (70 kV) between the Diest and Tienen high-voltage substations has reached the end of its service life, Elia is replacing the line with new underground electricity cables (150 kV) and upgrading the Tienen, Kersbeek and Diest high-voltage substations. This project is part of Elia's ongoing efforts to future-proof the Belgian power grid.
Tienen high-voltage substation upgrade
Elia is currently working on the Tienen high-voltage substation and plans to replace the outdated installations, install a new transformer and build compact high-voltage bays.
Information session on 23 April 2025
At the information session, Elia will provide more information about the route, timetable and purpose of the project. Project managers will be on hand to answer any questions. The information session will take place on Wednesday, 23 April 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at OC De Koepel (Sint-Laurentiusstraat 19, 3300 Tienen).
