Laying of conduits for electricity cables in Nachtegaalstraat

Elia is currently working on the laying of the underground electricity cables between Buizingen and Oostkerk. Excavation work for the laying of conduits in Nachtegaalstraat starts on Tuesday 12 April. The work will continue until 10 May 2022.

Laying of conduits

Starting on Tuesday 12 April 2022, the contractor will dig an open trench, lay the conduits here and then quickly refill the trench. The site zone is about 150 metres long and shifts. This takes place in Nachtegaalstraat (starting from the footpath facing house number 172) in the direction of Frans Daystraat. In a later phase, high-voltage cables will be pulled through the conduits. The road surface will be repaired in the course of August 2022.

Hindrance during the work

During the work, the following changes will come into force in Nachtegaalstraat:

For the entire site zone, one-way traffic will be in force. Through traffic will follow a local diversion via Kluisbos and Groenstraat.

• All houses remain accessible during the work. 
• For cyclists and pedestrians, travel in both directions remains possible. 
• Public transport and rubbish collection are not hindered by this work. 
• You will always have electricity during the work.
