Temporary change in traffic rules in Veldstraat, Kouter, Resteleurs, Driepikkel and Berendries (phases 1 and 2)
Elia is laying new 150-kV underground electricity cables in Veldstraat, Kouter, Resteleurs, Driepikkel and Berendries. The work will start on Monday, 2 August 2021 and will, under normal circumstances, run until Friday, 10 September 2021.
Why is the project needed?
The 150-kV high-voltage line between Buizingen and Tubize (Oostkerk) is nearing the end of its life and will be dismantled. Elia will replace the high-voltage line with 150-kV underground electricity cables. The work to lay the cables will start in early August 2021 and will run until late 2023. The high-voltage line will be demolished starting in 2024. This will enable Elia to continuing ensuring security of electricity supply in the region.
