Deurnestraat closed to traffic during the weekend of 19 June
Elia is laying underground electricity cables in Ter Varentstraat. This means Deurnestraat will be closed to traffic at the roundabout on 19 and 20 June. Through traffic will follow a diversion.
Laying of underground power cables in Ter Varentstraat
Elia is laying underground electricity cables in Ter Varentstraat between the intersection with Deurnestraat and Bloemenlei. This means that during the weekend of 19-20 June (and perhaps on 21 June, too), there will be a temporary change in traffic rules in Deurnestraat.
Temporary change in traffic rules in Deurnestraat on 19-20 June
While the work is in progress Deurnestraat will be closed to traffic in both directions at the roundabout. Through traffic will be diverted:
- Vehicle traffic from Vosstraat will follow a diversion via Diksmuidelaan, Edelgesteentenstraat, Arbeidersstraat, Roderveldlaan, Fruithoflaan and Berchem Oogststraat.
- Vehicle traffic from Guido Gezellelaan will follow a diversion via Berchem Oogststraat, Fruithoflaan, Roderveldlaan, Arbeidersstraat and Edelgesteentenstraat.
- Vehicle traffic from Bloemenlei will follow a diversion via Osylei, Dieseghemlei, Hendrik Consciencelaan, Eggestraat and Krijgsbaan. From there, the diversion continues via Berchem Oogststraat.
- Since cyclists and pedestrians will not be able to pass through the intersection between Deurnestraat and Ter Varentstraat, they will have to cross the road and then use the cycle path at the roundabout on Deurnestraat in both directions.
