Extension of the diversion

For worksite-related reasons, and following new requests from other parties, a number of improvements have been and are yet to be made to optimise the useful life of the highway and public infrastructure already in place (water supply piping, for example).

These new requirements mean that we will have to carry out new work and because of this, extend our presence on the current site.

In turn, we will need to extend the diversion arrangements currently in place from Rue Fayt in Hanzinelle and Rue du Sommet in Hanzinne up until and including Friday 27 September.

We apologise for this delay and wish to inform members of the public that our and other public works contractors’ teams on site are doing their utmost to complete the works in the shortest time possible.

Please note, the free shuttle service put in place by Elia last April will resume from Monday 26 August until Friday 27 September, inclusive. The shuttle will make five round trips from Place d'Hanzinne to Place d'Hanzinelle between 4:20 pm and 6:30 pm from Monday to Friday, except Wednesdays, when the shuttle will operate from 12.15 pm to 2.30 pm.

More info on the shuttle

Traffic is permitted in the works zone outside works hours in the Hanzinne-Hanzinelle direction by obtaining a pass issued by the local authority (from 5:15 pm to 6:45 am).

Residents living in the works zone will be able to access their homes at any time using residents' passes also issued by the local authority.

For safety reasons, only one direction of traffic is permitted on certain sections of the diversion.

Please note:

  • Parking is prohibited on roadway RN 975, on the section of Rue du Sommet between Hanzinne and Hanzinelle.
  • The speed limit is 30 or 50 km/h on different sections of road that form part of the diversions and are located outside built-up areas.
  • Vehicles with a laden weight of more than 7.5 metric tons are prohibited on the various sections of road affected by the diversion and located outside built-up areas, with the exception of local traffic and agricultural convoys.
