Start of construction

Upon receipt of the planning permit issued by the Walloon Region authorities, Elia, the transmission system operator, will begin installing the new underground 150kV connection between the substations of Ciply and Pâturages.

The construction of this new underground connection of approximately 14 kilometres will begin in January 2023 at the Ciply substation and will be completed during the second semester of 2024. 

However, as certain other public roadworks are currently ongoing, it has been decided that Elia, in 2022, will only carry out a few preparatory works (soil tests, etc.). A more detailed schedule regarding the installation of the underground connection at the beginning of 2023 will be included in the interactive map as soon as possible.
