Laying of underground electricity cables
Elia will start laying underground electricity cables (150kV) on Chemin de la Forge and Cornet d’en Haut as from 9 May 2022. The end of the works is planned for the start of July 2022. During the works, a changed traffic situation applies.
Changed traffic situation
From 9 May to the beginning of July 2022, Chemin de la Forge and Cornet d’en Haut will be closed to traffic in both directions. The traffic is being diverted via Verloren Hoekweg, Komenstraat and Pont Maletweg. The tunnel under the N58 is also closed to traffic. This traffic is being diverted via Grote Mesenweg, Houthemsesteenweg and Petit Cornet weg.
Minimising disruption
Elia and the contractor are making every effort to minimise the disruption.
- All homes, businesses and farmland will remain accessible at all times. Owners will be informed of any exceptions to these arrangements
- The works will only take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the latest.
- Site traffic is being restricted.
- During the works, the electricity supply remains guaranteed.
