Public consultation on the improvement of the quality of input data for congestion management in the framework of a CREG incentive

Context

The objective of the report is to give an overview of the current modelling practices (individual and common gird model) and show transparency on the actual quality of the input data for congestion management. The report also covers a root-cause analysis of deviations in the input data (different forecasts f.e. wind, solar, load, …) and possible solutions for improvement. The goal of the incentive is not as such to improve all individual forecasts, but to focus on improvements and developments in order to keep a good level of congestion management decisions and avoid unnecessary costs. The public consultation will give the opportunity to raise any further questions on the matter and share needs for further analysis or ideas for solutions.

Consultation period

Elia invites all stakeholders to submit any comments and suggestions they may have on the document submitted for consultation.

The consultation period runs from 10th of June 2022 to 15th of July 2022.

After the consultation period, Elia will collect all comments and feedback from the market parties. Elia will analyze these comments and integrate them into a consultation report together with Elia’s responses. In addition to the consultation report, Elia will publish the reactions of the market parties (including names) on the website, unless it is explicitly stated that the contribution is to be considered confidential. The comments will also be taken as much as possible into account in the final report that will be published by the end of the year. The final report will also cover a more elaborated roadmap towards the future.
