Temporary change in traffic rules on Scheldelaan starting February 2025

There will be a temporary, minor change in traffic rules between February and May 2025 due to the Lillo-Galge project, which involves laying underground electricity cables between Lillo high-voltage substation and the future Galge high-voltage substation.

Repairs to the underground cable

Following the completion of the cable laying in December 2024, a cable fault was discovered during subsequent technical tests. In order to repair this fault, part of Scheldelaan will have to be dug up again near Bayer Agriculture, which will cause a temporary change in traffic rules. This change will affect an area spanning around 110 metres; the lane towards Antwerp will be completely closed and the lane towards the Netherlands will instead comprise one lane for traffic heading towards the Netherlands and one for traffic heading towards Antwerp. Repairs will be carried out between February and May 2025. More information on the exact dates will follow.
