Laying of underground cables begins in Septestraat

In the cycle path on the side of the Agfa Gevaert car park and on the side of the street with even house numbers, a trench was dug in which the electricity cables will be laid. Once the work is finished, the trench will be refilled and the cycle path restored. The work will run until Friday 2 July, barring unforeseen circumstances.

Temporary change in traffic rules in Septestraat

  • While the work is in progress traffic will only be possible in one direction in Septestraat. Traffic from Deurnestraat and the centre of Mortsel will follow a local diversion via Deurnestraat and Antwerpsestraat (N1).
  • The bicycle path and footpath in Septestraat on the side of the street with even house numbers will be closed while the work is in progress. At the worksite zone, cyclists and pedestrians will have to cross the street to use the cycle path on the other side. This cycle path will be set up as a two-way cycle path.
  • At the worksite zone, Elia will provide pedestrian crossings so they can safely cross the open trench in the worksite zone. The existing pedestrian crossings will also remain usable.
  • The cycle path and pedestrian path at the Deurnestraat roundabout will be closed to traffic from Monday 28 June to Friday 2 July.
