Pylons for Scheldt crossing under construction
Work on the River Scheldt crossing, which is taking place as part of the construction of the new 380 kV line between Zandvliet, Lillo and Liefkenshoek, is well under way. To enable the line to span the Scheldt, two new pylons 192 m tall are being erected on the banks of the river. Work is currently being carried out on the foundations, and the pylons are being assembled in sections at the adjacent worksite. In the course of 2019, these sections will be placed one on top of the other to form a complete pylon.
Finally, crane platforms will also be built on both banks. These will be used to erect the pylons on the banks of the Scheldt.
