Elia begins laying underground cables (15 kV) in Osylei 

Elia plans to install new underground electric cables (15 kV) between the Mortsel high-voltage substation in Drabstraat and the Agfa-Gevaert industrial site in Septestraat in Mortsel. This work is necessary in order to continue guaranteeing a reliable supply of electricity for Agfa-Gevaert. 

Laying of electric cables in Osylei

From Monday 5 to Friday 9 July 2021, our contractor Scheldekabel NV will lay underground electric cables in Osylei. To do this, it will perform underground directional drilling operations to connect Ijzerenweglei and Osylei. Completion is scheduled for Friday 9 July 2021, barring unforeseen circumstances. 

Traffic diversion while the work is in progress

While the work is in progress, the traffic rules will be temporarily modified in Osylei where it meets Wouter Volcaertstraat:

• The contractor will close Osylei to all traffic at Wouter Volcaertstraat. This part of Osylei will be a dead-end temporarily.
• A temporary parking ban will be in force in the closed part of Osylei. The contractor asks residents to move their vehicles before Monday 5 July 2021.
