Road repairs in Vogelzang and near the McDonald's
Elia is laying high-voltage (150-kV) underground cables between Geel and Herentals. From Monday 13 September to Friday 17 September (inclusive), Elia is carrying out road repairs in Vogelzang. The work is being done in two phases.
Road surface repairs following the cable work
On Monday, 13 September 2021, Elia began work on the road surface in Vogelzang. The project is taking place in two phases and will run until Friday 17 September 2021.
- In the first phase, Elia is replacing the cobblestones in the median by the McDonald's with new ones. The old cobblestones will be recovered. This work will last around two days.
- In the second phase, the recovered cobblestones from the first phase will be used to re-surface the road at the bend in Vogelzang heading towards Antwerpseweg. This work will last around two days.
Diversion for through traffic
Homes and businesses will remain accessible at all times while the work is in progress. However, through traffic will not be allowed in Vogelzang. Motorists will have to take a diversion via Antwerpseweg.
